how to downgrade xserver from 7.5 to 7.4?

please some body help me? i need to make my ati card function (radeon x1300). I already change my kernel to the old one to fix the frequent freezing in jaunty and it work with the old kernel(intrepid) now i need to down grade my xserver to 7.4 to make my ati function, can somebody explain it to me? with how to step by step, thank you very much

If frequent freezing is your problem, I don't know if this helps but may be worth a try.

I installed Kubuntu 9.04 yesterday for the first time (I have been using Ubuntu 8.04 on all my machines) and was frustrated by frequent freezing (but the mouse cursor still worked) which did not have an apparent cause/fix. I had to power down and re-start. I was just about to give up on Kubuntu when it occured to me that Kwallet was occasionally popping up. I don't know anything about Kwallet but I found out how to disable it and have not a a freeze since.
