    missing stuff

In opensuse 11 it had a hole mess of settings can kubuntu have these. In opensuse it was so much Easier to join a workgroup now i cant find theses kinds of settings in kubuntu. I could list them but it would take a long time.

If you open Dolphin file manager, you should see in the Places column "Networks". Click on this & then Samba Shares & if you are connected to a Workgroup type LAN, this should bring up the available shares. Enter user/password & it should connect. The only odd thing I have found is that it will only accept an administrator privelige user/password & not a valid ordinary user/password.

The zeroconf stuff does not seem to work very well. It is SLOOOOOOOOOOOW. And I usually know the IP address for the PC's I need to connect to, so I prefer to use that.

But this is an area that should just work totally perfect out of the box. It is something that a lot of people expect that you can do. As a VERY good example, take a look at how things appear under OSX. They solved that puzzle.
