OK so in 8.40 dolphin had disk usage showing at the bottom of the window and when you hightlighted a file it apearse on the rite pane and gave a list of choises under the icon and statisticks IE: stuff like open as root ( or edit as root if file) open with and the sutch.

but NOT in Jaunty................so how do I get that back

I think that this is not available with the KDE 4. Here it shows the number of the folders and file number & file disk usage at the open folder.

The are the servicemenus

In KDE-speak a "servicemenu" is a special entry that appears in Konqueror's/Dolphin's context menu depending on the file(s) that are selected.

Root:
> Root Actions Servicemenu
> Simple Root Actions Menu
> Open Dolphin as Root

Settings -> Configure Dolphin... General -> Status Bar (Show Space Information).

Yes that's it but in 8.40 the info panel allso had the open as root or edit as root choises showing at the bottom of the panel!

ROGE131: thanks for the links but I gess I'll just -sudo dolphin- to get the root acsess to things when I nead it. :P
