Is it possible to redirect audio streams on an application-specific basis?

Hi, I'm having some audio issue on Kubuntu with Flash. I have have Logitech USB speakers which register as a separate sound device, but Flash only uses my built-in pc speakers. In general, I'd like to know if it's possible to redirect audio to specific audio devices on an application-specific basis, without using PulseAudio. I'd greatly appreciate any guidance anyone can offer on this.

Also, is this Release Note still valid?

Hi,

I think what you want depends on the application you want to use. If that program has the ability to send the sound to a certain device, then yes.
