    wallpaper and kdesudo bug

    Hellow,

I'm recently new to kubuntu and I've been working with Kubuntu 8.10 for some time and I didn't really had any problems. But now I've upgraded tot Kubuntu 9.04 and I've got the following problems:

    1. When I open adept or synaptic, I can only do that in read only mode. When I use kdesudo then I can solve this, but in my previous version, Kubuntu used kdesudo automatically

    2. Plasma doesn't remember all of my customised settings, so when I change the wallpaper, or when I add widgets, the I always loose them when I logout/reboot

Now I've got an ATI video card and I'm running Compiz, but I doubt that's got anything to do with it.

    Can someone help me?
    Thanx, Mols

Adept has been replaced by KPackageKit. Try that one.

You might find it less painful to do a fresh install rather than an upgrade. My experiences upgrading Kubuntu (and other distros) in the past have been unpleasant.
