Launch in system tray

In KDE3 I used force a program to launch in the system tray, then minimize to tray on closure. I can't remember how I used to do that, nor can I find anything useful on the web such as:

kde "open|launch|start in tray"

If the program has the options you can set them, eg: to use the tray and start in tray etc. Check the options in the app
