X(?) Crashes when closing Firefox with multiple tabs

I upgraded to 9.04 today and noticed when ever you try to close Firefox with multiple tabs, the window doesn't load properly and everything freezes up, no mouse, nothing.

Am I the only one, and any known fix?

EDIT: After leaving it idle there for a moment and moving the mouse around quickly it did start to move. Ctrl+Alt Backspace and other commands don't work, X seems to crash a lot. Remotely killing it would work, but does it keep your other programs up? It probably would, right? If it doesn't it's just faster to restart than killing X.

Re: X(?) Crashes when closing Firefox with multiple tabs

I was just searching the forum for similar problems & Googling the internet as well .. it seems to be a general problem (lockups & system crash) .. & I intent to open a topic about it.

    As for Killing X

    Code:
sudo apt-get install dontzap && sudo dontzap --disable
then restart X .. just log off & in again

Canonical decided to disable the zapping feature by default.

The previous command enables it again .. hope it helps ; )

As for lockups ... serious problem, I'll continue searching & open a topic about it.

P.S: Another thing .. if it lock up on you & cannot kill x by "Ctrl + Alt + Backspace" (after enabling the zap option), try:
    Code:
    "Alt + SysRq" + "r" + "s" + "e" + "i" + "u" + "b"
In case it didn't reboot .. just hit
    Code:
    Alt + Ctrl + Del
Should handle it, still a temporary solution though.

      Thanks!
Was wondering why ctrl+alt+backspace wasn't working.

Hopefully this will get fixed soon, I've switched to Konqueror for the time being. I've downloaded the latest updates but haven't tried to see if it fixed it yet.
