    Language selection unavailable (SCIM/Anthy?)

In my new Jaunty I have installed additional languages to use in my work. However when I open a text editor, the e-mail client or the like I see no option allowing me to chose the desired language. Is there any other additional software from the repository that should be installed to have this functionality in place?

    Thanks for your time

I am really not sure about this but have you used System Setting-> Regional & Language to set a different language?

Yes, I set three languages and in fact they all appear in the Language pane. The only problem is that I can only input text using the System language but I cannot find a way to change language when I need it. In Ubuntu 8.10 a small language bar appeared to let me switch language very easily, but in Jaunty such bar doesn't appear at all.
