    KPackage Error

    Hi All,

I added the resources for the Banshee Media Player (deb http://blablabla)

At the end of the installation process I got an error message which now reappears any time I try to use KPacjageKit.
    It reads as follows:

"A problem that we were not expecting has occurred.
Please report this bug with the error description.

Message did not receive a reply (timeout by message bus)"

And KPackageKit tells me to report the error - which I hereby do

Any suggestions how I may get back to being able to install software?

I tried to uncheck the "deb http://blabla" for Banshee - it does not help

    Thx for the attention,

    Arne

    Re: KPackage Error

The effects of source selection are stored in /etc/apt/sources.list or files in /etc/apt/sources.list.d. You can edit those files and comment entries with #, remove lines, or remove files from /etc/apt/sources.list.d/. After you do un
    sudo aptitude update
Then run "man aptitude" and avoid future problems with a lame GUI.

      Hi mando_hacker!

Thx for the hint. I more or less did just what you suggested. Edited the file manually and deleted the line for the Banshee player. Unfortunately I'm not skillful enough to do without those guis...

      Thx again,

      Arne

Don't sell yourself short. It just takes a little learning, and it won't change in 6 months.
