i had my resolution on 1280x800 and it looks so cool.
but
all the time the system freezes, bad. as i said before.
then i got down the resolution to the so ugly 1024x768 and it goes a little slow, but not freeze.
i even can use firefox +amarok + kopete.
so, can it be related to the intel driver? can i use the ati one?
or the pulseaudio?
While I am not an expert I did look at your log file and I don't see anything that appears problematic. I see you are using the radeon driver, getting DRI and GLX support and you seem to have numerous outputs, maybe VGA,Dual DVI-I and TV?
Are you using 2 monitors on DVI-I , one through an analog adapter? If so you might try using only the other monitor and see if the problem goes away. Adapters are not always what they should be. It would be even better if you ran it straight digital all the way through. In any case it would be best to simplify any multiple monitor situation and see if you can determine a part that is causing trouble.
Hmm, i have Radeon X1600xt and my monitor is connected through DVI-0. No other display is connected on my graphic card. But my monitor is rely old...
It's interesting how it worked flawlessly on old kernel. Well soon KDE 4.2.2 will be released, and maybe with him this bug will be repaired.
I did not see your xorg.conf file but with an old monitor it may well help to specify monitor properties (Hsync,Vrefresh) rather than counting on EDID.
If you read my first post you will see that freeze only happens with desktop effect tuned on. I don't use any effect, but i would like to. I only need Desktop Grid because I'm starting to learn programing, and i need more space on Desktop.
I did some research and come to this conclusion:
On Kubuntu Alpha 6 everything worked fine, but with beta came kernel update and that is the time when problem has start to show up.
I tried to use Compiz and worked flawlessly.
Also when using Compositing type: XRender don't have any problems with randomly freezing.
Hope this help to someone who is smarter then me, and solve the problem.
