GTK Styles and fonts are not saved when I restart the computer

I have to manually set the GTK style to "Use my KDE style in my GTK applications" from Appearance in System Settings, every time I log into Kubuntu 9.04.

Is there any one else with this issue? I have an Autostart file related to gtk-qt-engine, called gtk-qt-engine.rc.sh, enabled at pre-KDE startup.
    Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT: Now they don't change at all when I set the style, and I have libgnomeui installed. It worked yesterday...

I had this problem for a day or two, but after last night's updates (and installing the qtcurve and qtcurve-gtk packages) this issue seems to have gone away for me.

Incidentally, setting the GTK style to QTCurve seems to make Firefox look and behave quite a bit better for me as well.

It seems gtk-qt-engine writes the settings in ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4, while kde4 actually reads ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde...so try renaming ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4 to ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde.
(Also kde login seems to remove ~/.gtkrc-2.0-kde4)

Jaunty seems to have switched to using qtcurve as the default gtk theme, as it performs better than gtk-qt-engine in many cases. (and it doesn't need gnome stuff to work, so it'll work even if there are only non-gnome gtk apps installed, like openoffice, gimp, firefox, synaptic etc.)

Yes, renaming that file solved it, but qtcurve works much better with firefox tabs and scroll bars, despite not being as similar to the Oxygen them as the other one. Thanks

I thought I had this covered, but could not get settings to stick and Firefox and Thunderbird was using the wrong font setting.

I had kde-style-qtcurve installed, but had not installed gtk2-engines-qtcurve. After doing that and restarting, it finally look the way it should :-)

QtCurve is cool but is there anyway to change the ugly thick scrollbar of firefox?

I want a tiny one, as the one in my kde desktop.

Thick scrollbar? FIrst of all, I do not have any scrollbar on my desktop... Second, in Firefox, my scrollbar is pretty slim. So I am not sure what you mean. Why don't you make a screenshot and show both so we can understand what you mean?

Here I attached the screenshot. I can't access kolourpaint4 atm. So, I'll explain it here.

You can see the thin scrollbar (Sculpture Style) in my Dolphin and System Settings' windows VS Firefox thick ugly scrollbar~

It is a little hard to notice for me, but it seems you have a scrollbar that is hardly thicker than the window border. Hope I am right.

I have to be honest - I have never seen that style of scrollbar before and dont't know where to find it. But all I did to get the look I use in Firefox was to install the mentioned packages and choose QTCurve in System Settings>Appearance>GTK Styles and Font.

I did not get that setting to stick until I installed all packages.
