Do you get error messages ?

What mirror are you using ?

Here with the Ubuntu main server (download only):
    Code:
    sudo apt-get install -d firefox
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree
    Reading state information... Done

The following extra packages will be installed:
    firefox-3.0 firefox-3.0-branding
    Suggested packages:
    ubufox firefox-3.0-gnome-support
The following NEW packages will be installed:
    firefox firefox-3.0 firefox-3.0-branding
0 upgraded, 3 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
Need to get 1158kB of archives.
After this operation, 4002kB of additional disk space will be used.

No I didn't I looked for it in synaptic and they weren't there. I am not home right now so I can't try to use apt-get, but I am sure since they arent in synaptic they wont be there.

        Re: Some packages aren't available

The first thing I did after installing Jaunty was to open the Kpackagekit and look to see what was in the repository. I found nothing. Kpackagekit didn't seem to want to display anything!

So, I opened a Kconsole and entered:
        sudo apt-get update
        sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
That brought me up to KDE 4.2.1 and everything seemed to work after that, except for FF3, which still leaves a live zombie.
