Screen Flicker

Currently using 8.04 with KDE 4.1 on my laptop and quite happy with it. Have been downloading and trying the desktop CDs as they become available. Something I have noticed with Jaunty as well 8.10: when KDE comes up, I get weird background colors and all over the screen pixels are turning off and on contributing to a "flicker" effect. This also happens in certain window decorations.

I've been searching through the forums, but have found very little on this topic. Any ideas?

if you can, try installing the restricted drivers for yor video card.
in my case, before installing the video drivers, I had a lot of screen flick...
