Network detected, but no way to connect

Hi everyone. I've just switched to Linux, and this is the first issue I came across: I've installed Kubuntu 9.04, and the WI-FI card seemed to work with no need for appropriate driver, as it detected all the networks in range, but as I tried to connect to one of them, after setting it up in the network manager, i got the message "CONNECTING TO XXX NETWORK", and after a few secs, nothing else. No warning message. No connection. What's my mistake ?

    Thanks in advance for help.

Re: Network detected, but no way to connect

If it is WPA/2, some users do have difficulty connecting.

Some users have better luck installing wicd and using that instead of networkmanager... if you install wicd it will uninstall networkmanager and the associated plasma widget, but you can get them back easy enough if wicd is not for you.

For more detailed help, you should run
    Code:
    lspci | grep Network
and post the output, so people here know what card you have.
