Where to enter the WEP key for wicd

This is probably a really foolish question, but where do I enter the WEP code for wicd?

I must have already done this for my home connection, but in this office, wicd happily comes up, reports with connect buttons for five networks, notes that the one I need is WEP, and offeres me no way to configure it.

I could enter it in the "Advanced settings" of network section of system settings, but doesn't this get wiped? And even if it didn't, wouldn't it overwrite my home key?

    thanks

Since wifi uses an access point wicd knows which network you are trying to connect to and can store info for each. Click Properties for the network, select Use Encryption and WEP, put in the key. Tell it to reconnect automatically. Now when you boot up at the office it finds the office network and connects you. If you did the same at home it will connect there when you boot up at home. I even do this at hotels and coffee shops, and the next time I am there it knows how to connect.

Once you bring up WICD, there is a little triangle next to your wireless SSID name...click that, which will bring up an 'advanced options' button...you configure wep, etc there.

        ah-hah!

        I hadn't noticed that triangle there (or hadn't realized it was a button) . . .

        thanks
