I got a usb-enabled 3G connection. When I plug it into the usb port, KNetwork Manager recognizes it and even gives me the option to connect. But when I click to connect, it doesn't do absolutely anything. There was a case where the same thing happened to another person. Apparently, KNetwork doesn't handle 3G connections (even though it presents the option). What can I do?

Re: 3G Connection
Ok I tried wvdial and yet it asks for a username and password. Is it the one from my kubuntu account? (which I tried but didn't work) or is it from somewhere else (the company which gave me the usb-enabled 3G connection didn't provide me with information like that). I also tried kppp, I put in the necessary information and give my wireless number; and it starts to connect with everything in place until it says NO CARRIER and stays there. Any suggestions? ..The cyber-world is a whole different world indeed.

Re: 3G Connection
try this Ubuntu thread https://help.ubuntu.com/9.04/interne...ng-mobile.html
the only thing to remember is this uses the gnome network manager not the KDE network manager - it seems to work better. I've noticed a couple of posts on the Kubuntu forum saying to use the Gnome nm.
Alternatively, do everthing manually. For this, you will need to read more about networking.
