Wireless Connection Keeps Dropping, Won't Re-Connect

    Specs:
    Kubuntu 9.04
    ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe Motherboard
w/ On-board RTL8187 Wireless Chip (I believe it shows it as a USB connection but it is onboard the motherboard)
    WRT54GL Wireless router w/ DD-WRT firmware.

I just installed a fresh copy of 9.04 and I can't get the wireless connection to stay connected. When Kubuntu first loads it connects just fine, but the connection will drop every time after about 10 minutes and I can't get it to re-connect without re-booting, after which it will work again the then drop. I tried disabling WAP security and that didn't work. Anyone having similar problems or have any ideas on how to get this fixed? I will keep searching the forums for ideas but I can't find anyone who has a similar problem. I will try to provide any info that I can.

Have you tried enabling the backports linux kernel? Apparently, this fixes the issue:
