Dodgy Wireless after upgrade to KDE 4.2.4

I was delighted to see yesterday evening that there was a new version of KDE (4.2.4) available in adept so I duly downloaded it. However, following this update my wireless connection lasts for no more than about 30 seconds. Turning off wireless and restarting it or disconnecting and reconnecting in WICD has no effect on this. Rebooting - I get the same thing.

This is definitely a kubuntu-only issue and not a router problem as my daughter's Vista Laptop and my wife's UNR 9.04 netbook just stay connected - period.

Anyone else experiencing this?

nope. after the upgrade , i had no wireless issues. i have a broadcom 4312 chip.
