Connected to network, no connection to outside

I'm having some difficulties regarding wireless networking.
I can connect to my wireless network, but only when specifying what IP adress should be used. There doesn't seem to be an IP leased by the DHCP.
I'm using Wicd to connect to it.
When connected, I can not ping to my gateway. As a result it gives 'Destination Host Unreachable"
I have a USR 8054 PCI card, recognised as an Texas Instruments ACX 111 by Kubuntu. Also I use the Windows drivers (usr11g.inf) trough Ndiswrapper, which used to work in previous versions of Ubuntu (I switched to Kubuntu as of this version)

I issued some commands in the terminal with the following output:

    stef@stef-kubuntu:~$ iwconfig
    lo no wireless extensions.

    eth0 no wireless extensions.

    usb0 no wireless extensions.

As you can see here, there is a network available

On a side note: I don't know if my ethernet card interferes with the wireless one, but it never happened before, so I'm not sure.

Iwlist scan gives me networks in the area, so that works too.

    Anybody has any ideas?

    Thanks up front
    Greetings
