    Hi Beppe!
Same problem with kubuntu 9.04 and huawei E220.

At the moment i solved by command line.
    1. config the followig file: /etc/wvdial.config (you should know from your provider)
    2. run the command: /etc/wvdial Defaults

    It works for me.
I'm was not able to fix knetworkmanager or Networkmanager...

PS: you need to use sudo for (1) and (2)

    Good luck!

Re: Huawei E220 on kubuntu 9.04

As you might know from other posts on this forum, a lot of people have abandoned Network Manager for Wicd, as it tends to be much more stable with WiFi. There are plans for Wicd to provide access via 3G modems but I wouldn't hold your breath for that to appear. wvdial is probably the only option at the moment, so the tips above should help.
