weird networking problem in 9.04 (works fine in 8.10)

After upgrading my system to 9.04 I can no longer access the MySQL, vnc, ktorrent web or any other service running on my linux server.

The machine itself has working access to the internet through my Atheros wireless card, and network manager seems to be working correctly. My router sees the system and displays it in the DHCP table as 192.168.1.5 ... yet when I try to even ping the 9.04 machine (even internally on my network) I get no response.

At first I thought something was wrong in the router but when i boot back into 8.10 everything works fine, I can ping the machine, connect to any of the services running without a problem.

    ANy suggestions?

    Oh My

Can you plug your 9.04 to a wired connection and see if works correctly that way?

    That's a really strange behaviour.

    can you cat your /etc/resolv.conf
    /etc/hosts

    the output of $ route
the output of iwconfig and ifconfig
