While using Ubuntu, I had to edit the workgroup name my smb.conf file in order for Windows to recognise my computer as part of it's network.
Now on Kubuntu 9.04, I can connect to the Windows computers from Kubuntu but Windows cannot connect to Kubuntu. I was able to find the smb.conf file but could not save my changes because of permissions. I think I need to do this via the terminal but Kubuntu commands are different than Ubuntu's; or is there another way? I typed, sudo gedit /etc/samba/smb.conf failed in the terminal & I'm guessing the commands are different in Kubuntu.
Could someone please advise! Thanks
