So I burned the Kubuntu 9.10 image onto a disk. The boot initially goes fine. Until it actually get's into the OS and starts loading. When it shows the loading screen where the different icons appear (hard drive, settings, ect...), it all of a sudden goes black and starts over at that screen again, this time only showing the hard drive icon. Ever time the hard drive appears, it goes black for a second and then goes back to that same screen. A continuous loop I guess. I checked the integrity of the disk and it said it was fine. Any ideas how I can get passed this?

Re: Having trouble booting from disk
It's a video card issue. When you boot from the LiveCD and you are at the initial menu, press the function key (F4 or F6) for graphics options. Choose 'Safe Graphics' which will use the VESA graphics driver. This should permit you to boot fully into the desktop.Windows no longer obstructs my view.
Using Kubuntu Linux since March 23, 2007.
