    Re: Filesystem not clean

    It's a loss that Unicorn Rider is "Gone for good" and his web sight is also "Gone for good." Early in my adventures into Kubuntu, I had the opportunity to discuss the matter to 'boot logging' in Kubuntu. He had a solution, and I actually used it, but alas, I have no notes on what it was. My post concerning it here in KFN only has him pointing me to his Docuwiki section of his websight.

    I've Googled, and unfortunately, it appears as if no copies of his execellent observatations about Kubuntu and Debian were ever 'captured' and made available elsewhere on the 'Net.

      Hey dibl ... sorry

      Smiley "expose myself"?

      You mean, like expose my ignorance? Grin
      First of all, i'm not so good in english writing and clearly was very unhappy chosing the words in that post.. And of course wasn't meanning to tell about you.. sorry again.
      I've heard something about ubuntu foruns around here and was really concerned with it.

      As a matter of facts the very ignorance here is all mine, and status of my membership says it very well, "always learning" or trying to, or thinking so at least.

      I was out for couple days and will now try directions made by Rog131, will post latter results..

      thank you all people and please accept my appologisies. Will think 4 times before writing...

        No appology needed. Some of our members tend towards a 'quick' wry humor - me included. So, don't take any offense when such responses are given. The vast majority of KFNs regular members are a friendly bunch.

        Not necessary here in KFN. This forum tends towards friendliness and helpfulness - both in varying degrees.

        Every single one of us was, when we first became participating members of KFN, were where you are now. If you stick with us, and you do your part to learn what you can about Linux and Kubuntu, you too, will gain experience and knowledge that you can use to assist others.

          No worries, friend. As Snowhog says, some of us like to include a bit of humor, along with the painfully dry details on how to make a computer work.

          You can't hurt my feelings -- don't worry about perfecting your English language skills (no one else does .....). Just ask the questions.

          BTW, there are a couple of forum users who do speak Spanish. Moonrise, where are you?

            That would be 'four times' more thinking before posting than some of us do!

              user.log --> pulseaudio
              Reading comments of yours, i could see this log stuff is about a big white elephant, and i do better just solving my issue in rude way.. I'll put a kron entry to umount my partitions (root account if needed), and will teat this as done .

              Will post results latter if of interests.

                Yep.

                Here's another rude way: back up all the data on that reiserfs partition, then use GParted and reformat it to ext3. Mount it and copy your data back on it.

                Reiserfs is going where the dinosaurs are ....

                  Think it wouldn't work as well:
                  Here's another rude ...reformat it to ext3...
                  remember sda3 (now empty) is in ext4 formatted by kubuntu... that's what i did:
                  do_stop () {
                  # Message should end with a newline since kFreeBSD may
                  # print more stuff (see #323749)
                  log_action_msg "Will now restart"
                  # meus: e tirei o -f e -i do reboot abaixo e pus -v
                  /bin/umount /dev/sda4 <------------------------------***** added :-X
                  /bin/umount /dev/sda3 <------------------------------***** added :-X
                  reboot -d -f -i
                  }
                  notice "/bin/umount" not usual "/sbin/umount"

                  added that lines into /etc/init.d/reboot & halt, ugly but works.. now partitions are been unmounting well "BEFORE" shutdown the machine..

                  that's all folks.. thank you all
