    Can't compute upgrade

I am upgrading from hardy to jaunty.

"Normal" upgrade always fails saying Can't compute upgrade.

Managed to get to Intrepid by:
    sudo adept_manager --dist-upgrade

but that was a one-time charm. It doesn't work on intrepid.

How do I get past the installer balking about unsupported packages?

Can I just go into my apt sources and change everything to jaunty and
    then do
    sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
    ?

What about fixing grub's menu.lst, etc.?

    TIA

    Re: Can't compute upgrade

You can't upgrade directly for 8.04 to 9.04. See this page. You have to complete the upgrade to Intrepid first.

        Re: Can't compute upgrade

Then you must first update intrpid fully, apply all updates, then you should be able to upgrade to Jaunty, following the instructions on the page I posted.
