updates 2.6.28-15 blocked on my PC ?

Last week I installed Kubuntu 9.04
Today I did an update/upgrade but saw that some 2.6.28-15 packages were blocked.

I do not recall blocking them myself.

Is there a problem with these Linux upgrades to explain they were blocked /hidden/greyed-out ?

Mmm. Is seems to me as if the latest kernel is 2.6.28-13 (I just installed it). Maybe you enabled the "proposed updates" repository? That is a testbed, and most likely you don't want it (unless you are, well, testing something

Re: updates 2.6.28-15 blocked on my PC ?

In one of the forums I read that the problem with blocked kernel upgrades is that a newer version of KDE (4.2.3 or 4.2.4) is required -- see instructions in http://www.kubuntu.org/news/kde-4.2.3 on how to add that repository.

After was done with new depository upgrades, I had to do apt-get dist-upgrade to upgrade kernel on one of the computers.

On another computer I didn't manage to upgrade to kde4.2.4 - I got stuck with dependencies on another... I guess I will post my question to another thread, in Software section.

        Try this.
        Type in konsole:
        sudo apt-get update
        press enter then
        sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
        and enter again.
