Other than posting problems it might be nice for a change to post something which works, I thought
I got myself a new X61t with Vista Ultimate pre-installed....
With a usb boot image from http://unetbootin.sourceforge.net/ I installed 8.10 and was somehow amazed since wlan and bluetooth worked rightaway (which it didn't with vista - mabe just bad kharma). After a rushed upgrade to 9.04 the wlan stopped working. Some searching assured it might be a bug with the network-manager and that wicd would be a solution => worked nicely!
The pen works with a small edit of xorg.conf as shown here: http://blog.aliencam.net/2008/10/ubu...-tablet-setup/
The only more or less intensive part was 'automatic tablet mode': I followed this instruction http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php...40&postcount=1 which worked rightaway. Now I can get the full blast of tablet usage with xournal's pdf annotation - nice!
Everything else (i.e sound etc.) worked out of the box.
kind regards,
thomas
