[solved] How to remove ubuntustudio modified kernel linux--rt?

I should know by now. I wanted to try out some of the ubuntustudio packages, and while I wasn't paying attention, it installed a version of the kernel linux-kernel-(something)-rt. Whatever that's for, it hosed my system. I was able to boot using /vmlinuz.bak and /initrd.img.bak, but since there is a message that it is not maintained by the Ubuntu maintainers, I want rid of it. What is the safest way to remove this, and leave the regular Ubuntu kernel (and the ability to update it normally) intact?

Actually, looking at /boot, it looks like all the normal kernel files are still there. Can I just apt-get remove linux-image-2.6.28-3-rt and be done with it?

sure, you can remove the kernel as long as you have other kernels.

OK, thought I would ask first. You never know. Seems to have gone well.
