How do I get KDE 3 back?

I upgraded from Hardy to Jaunty recently, and have spent a few days with KDE 4. What a freakin' nightmare! I take it they had no usability engineers involved in this project.

Can I switch back to KDE 3.5? If so, how do I go about it?

NEVER MIND. After posting this, I found a message from someone else who had the same question, and was referred to http://apt.pearsoncomputing.net/

Apparently there have been enough people who feel the same way to prompt a solution. Hopefully the KDE engineers will get the hint.

I am relatively new to Linux, but quite experienced with DOS and Windows.  I'm comfortable editing things like fstab, etc., but I need specific instructions of what files to edit and what to add.<br /><br />My system is Kubuntu 10.10, using KDE 4.5.1.

yes, you can install kde3 alongside kde4 in Jaunty. Release notes can be read here.
