Re: Install Grub to a Partition - Alpha6

Yeah, I see from your screenshots. Have not yet tried it myself.

    Bug?
First, have you searched to see if any bug reports have been filed (similar/related)?
Or google to see what's been discussed on it, say in mailing lists or such.

As for what constitutes a bug, hmmm ... not sure. It looks as if they have not yet really worked on this; that is, it is not a bug so much as it is an unfinished/TODO feature.
Not sure what to make of this.

I guess there's no need to report the bug. It's already there: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...er/+bug/337957. I don't know what a TrueCrypt bootloader is, but the behavior is pretty much the same.

"Looks like os-prober can't detect this (by TrueCrypt design). We might just have to make grub-installer have a more sophisticated check for whether we're alone on the disk - perhaps test for the presence of partitions we didn't create."

So, they are worried about the effect TruCrypt had; but you might mention yours as well -- no TruCrypt, just a standard multi-Linux setup.

"...perhaps test for the presence of partitions we didn't create."

=> Doesn't sound like they've had time to work on this much.
