    Checking battery state...

I've installed Jaunty alpha 6 in VirtualBox and had to delete the plasma rc file to get it to boot. Everything worked fine until I got home from work and tried to start it up again - now it just hangs at: "Checking battery state..." Note this is after it starts up kdm and immediately after starting crond.

Any ideas? I saw an old post in previous releases saying to add acpi=force to the grub menu.lst but I wasn't sure where to add it (if it will even help in VB). I did configure the VB session to have acpi, but I don't really need kubuntu monitoring any battery...
