Yesterday I installed Kubuntu Jaunty Jackalope on my laptop (a Olidata Stainer W2800 with ATI video and ATI audio), and I noticed that the resolution wasn't well-choosen. Looking at the System-settings I saw the resolution was 1024x768, where my laptop's display handles 1280x800. In system-setting I could not change it (I had just a choice between 800x600 and 1024x768).
But, after searching (Google is a very dear friend of mine
) and reading in several forums, I found the solution:
In a konsole I typed:
and, after a reboot, the resolution was in order
!
Maybe this may help others. I, for myself, now have to find a solution for my sound-problem: there is no sound. If I find a solution for that, I'll post it here.
