Sound issues

Hey all!

My sound worked on my initial install of kubuntu 9.04, however upon a apt-get dist-upgrade it no longer works.

I am on a laptop and neither the speakers, nor the headphone jacks work. Please let me know what, if any, system information you need.

Yes, the FAQ Answer #6 concerns mostly with Alsa (low level driver) issues.
