    Solved No Audio

I have no audio. I worked my way through the Ubuntu troubleshooting, but I am having no luck.

I have an Everex gbook that the audio was working under Ubuntu HH. Ubuntu died in an upgrade, so I installed Kubuntu 9.04. Everything works great, but audio.

    Here is some info:

Unfortunately Everex is out of business, so I can't call them.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks

    Re: No Audio

let's start with the obveus.......well esest eneyway.

youve opend Kmix and made shure all the slides are up rite........ including PCM?

next go to the system setings>multimedia and make shure your audio card is at the top of the list on the rite pane.......if not then drag it to the top........as you click each line on the left pane it may chang so check them all.

    then get back to us

      RE: No Audio

      Thanks Vinny

Just as you were posting I was playing with Kmix and had to configure it to add more sliders. I believe the master volume may have been low, but it was not showing that slider. I love and hate it when it is a simple fix.

Everything is cool now except for the headphone jack. When you plug in the headphones the internal speaker goes off, but no sound comes out of the headphones. Is there a slider somewhere for the headphone volume?

I am very happy now, so I won't complain about no headphones right now.

      Thank you very much.

Maybe you can help me now. Sound went away when I upgraded

Upgraded to 4.3 and now I have no audio.

I tried the above with no luck. I'm pretty sure it's a KDE problem and not a driver problem, since - you know- I changed KDE and not the drivers...
