WOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! got it! sweet jumpin' jeebus on a pogo-stick, what a PITA. I just ran that command you gave to install fakeroot etc., reinstalled all the fglrx .debs, rebooted and voila, I can haz wobbly windows!!! whew, thanx again man, I owe you at least a six-pack............cheers!

I noticed that under Minimum system requirements within the installation manual:

that it requires "glibc version 2.2 or 2.3"


Jaunty comes standard with glibc-2.1 ... this may be a problem.


Can anyone tell me how to update to one of these versions of glibc?

I just installed 9-7 in my Jaunty system without the need to upgrade libc, I would never touch these very basic libraries, you can really screw the system
