lg e300 webcam didn't work with skype (Now works, but with Horizontal lines)

Hello everyone,

I have Lg e300 Laptop, at first, when i install skype camera works with some problems, have video but with horizontal lines.
But now after 1 week and some updates (i think the problem is maybe because updates) e camera didn't work! only with skype...
I already tried to reinstall skype but with no successful
In Kopete works fine!

What do you suggest?

PS: I Have Kubuntu 9.04, installed since last month.

OK,

I tried reinstall kubuntu, and now i have the same problem, HORIZONTAL lines in skype.
In kopete video is working fine, without lines.

Any idea?

this might help some people to get the webcam working in kopete or skype.

create the script
#!/bin/bash

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so kopete
-------------------------------------------------------------
(you do not need the --!)
save as kopete2
run
sudo chmod +x kopete2
sudo cp kopete2 /usr/bin

you can now point kopete in the k menu to the script.

you can also use the same command for skype like so;

LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libv4l/v4l1compat.so skype
