Hey ya'll...
Can't get sound working on my laptop. Running Kubuntu 9.04 with all the current updates. About the only fix I have tried is turning the volume up all the way on all devices. No go. I've made sure nothing is muted, everything cranked- no sound. It lists a plethora of audio outs, I'm not interested in using external speakers- I'd like to use the ones integrated into the laptop. lol
To give ya'll a heads up- I'm still rather new to Linux. I've been dabbling with Kubuntu and Ubuntu since I want to say the 7.10 build (or whatever it was)... but nothing more than just dabbling. I used to be a rather hardcore gamer so Windows was my primary OS. But my roots are MS-DOS and windows 3.1- hence my interest in Linux as it has a rather robust command prompt (or so I've heard).
I know next to nothing about the "terminal" other than that is what ya'll call the command prompt. Most of my time with these two distros has been using the GUI. And even then the usage has been minimal. So, in short- I'm a rookie. I'm not opposed to firing up the command prompt (terminal, as ya'll call it)- just have no idea what to do or where to begin once I get it open. lol
Thanks for any and all suggestions! They're *very much* appreciated.
