I have an Intel Corporation 82852/855GM Integrated Graphics Device in my laptop. On startup the i915 driver gets loaded. This seems to be a bad combination, X freezes completely after a few minutes of use (the computer can be reached via the network). Do more people notice this?
I now load i830 from /etc/modules and haven't had any more freezes. Is this solution adequate or is there a better one?
As a test, I installed kernel 2.6.29.1, but it seems to have the same problem.
