    headers for kernel

    Hi there!
    i've upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04

My nvidia driver now stopped working. Now I tryed envyng. It says:

EnvyNG has detected that the headers for |
your kernel are missing and cannot be installed

    try to install headers:
    # uname -r
    2.6.27-11-generic

    #sudo apt-get install linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic
    Lese Status-Informationen ein... Fertig

Free translation of the german output:
linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic is not avileable but referenced once.
E: Paket linux-image-2.6.27-11-generic has no installation kandidate

Tryed several clean autoclean ... options. Tryed synaptic, aptitude etc. all report diferent broken thinks the programm fixes...

    Who knows whaet to do?
    Thank you for any Help!

    Re: headers for kernel

09.04 with a 27 kernel? This suggests that you have not rebooted to activate the new kernel - I think 09.04 uses a 28 version. I reckon you have a new sources.list and are looking for old header files...

      Re: headers for kernel

There have been numerous reports of the new kernel getting installed but not added to the grub menu.lst file.

        Thanks for your hint!
With the right kernel everything is fine!

Do you now a method tho write a grup-Entry with son dpkg commend? There was one.
I have copyd a old one and midified the kernel-file. I don't know about the othe parameters.

        Thanks,

        Christian.

I think you might be thinking of update-grub.
