Audio - Phonon and GStreamer missing?

    Audio - Phonon and GStreamer missing?

    I just checked the QT config app and noticed that settings on the Phonon tab was all greyed out.


    In current version for both Phonon and GStreamer it says Not available. How can I check if these packages are available and what versions they are?

    How can I enable this tab so I can change settings?

    Installed packages:
    dpkg --list (all)
    dpkg --list | grep 'gstreamer'
    dpkg --list | grep 'phonon'

    What's available:
    apt-cache search 'gstreamer'
    apt-cache search 'phonon'

    If you want to know more, try man dpkg, man apt-cache, man apt-get or Google debian package management.

        It's also disabled on my system. I'm not that concerned about it personally, I never edit the qt settings using qtconfig-qt4. I'm making an educated guess but try installing the following packages:

        phonon-backend-gstreamer - Phonon GStreamer 0.10.x backend
        python-qt4 - Python bindings for Qt4
        python-qt4-phonon - Python bindings for Phonon
