xmms2, gKrellm, gxmms2 fully functional kubu, etc. sans cd

    the title says it all.
xmms2 is now playing .pls streams, etc. gxmms2 is fully functional as a client, with the exception of a cd ( a non-local source [which is a situation with other players as well ] ).
The plugin for gKrellm works fine also.
I don't know that it is "all xmms2" or "all kubu" I think it is a combo of both.

    Hi
sorry, I forgot to mention visualzizations.

Visualizations for xmms2 don't work like regular visualizations but they are the same visualizations that are found in Amarok, etc. one can also do project M.

To enable visualizations one needs to make sure that "libvisual" is installed. Just sudo or you can use synaptic just using "sudo" as a search term and install the four items that are available.

Then with xmms2 running, you can control it with gxmms2 or gKrellm, but have it running, and open a terminal and type in the following.

    xmms2-libvisual

You will see the terminal with a few instructions and a "box" appear. It may have a visualization running or it may be black. At the top you should see the different visualizations' names such as "Jess". You can use the arrow keys, left and right, to go through them.

If you do not see visualizations that is because you probably don't have visualizations set in the config file.

You can use terminal if you wish or use the red "root" folder in Dolphin or Konqueror and navigate to the config file. Please note that a .filename is a hidden file you will have to enable "view hidden folders" in that place.

    Please navigate to:

    your name/Home/.config/xmms2/clients

Inside you will see some config stuff. If you do not see this line, then copy and paste it at the bottom of the other commands:

    effect.order.0 visualization

    save and close.

Open your terminal again and again enter: xmms2-libvisual and you should see the visualizations with Jess as the first. You can arrow key through the rest of them and the terminal will provide the commands for making it full screen etc.
