    [solved] Strigi won't start

Yeah, I know, everyone hates it, but I would like to experiment.
Unfortunately, I can't get it to start automatically. When I go to SystemSettings>Advanced>DesktopSearch and check the "Enable Strigi Desktop File Indexer", then exit, nothing happens. When I go back to the menu, the box is now unchecked. I have not removed any of the relevant packages. I did try removing the nepomuk*rc files from .kde/share/config, and the nepomuk directory from .kde/share/apps. Logging out and it recreates all this stuff, but strigi still won't restart. So it just plain won't start. I have tried a similar procedure in 9.04, and it comes back with a message that it is "suspended", whatever that may mean.
Has anyone played with this enough to know what's going on -- how to get it running.
I know how to kill it, if it misbehaves.

      Thanks for the info.

Seem to be some major dependency clashes with some of the "required" packages. My system really doesn't want to see libqt4 for some reason, and the package with qmake is qt3. Oh well, guess I'll wait another month.

Will give this a try next time I run JJ.
      Thanks.

Update: The JJ fix works. Sure seems slow, though, compared to beagle. Well, that's what I wanted -- to be able to test.
