Graphical anomaly before shutdown.

When I click the "Leave"-button before choosing "Shutdown" The whole screen (except for the dialogue-window containing the choices) goes "glitchy". I can't find a better word for it. It's like a distorted mess framing the choices (Shutdown, Log Out etc.).

What could be causing this?

This is not good when I want to impress my Windows using friends with my shiny new Kubuntu desktop.

Could you please post some specs of your machine?
- ram, video card, cpu, motherboard, etc.

Then it will be easier to give you some help.

This might be a bit overkill, or it might not.
I'm running the 64-bit 8.10 version of Kubuntu.

Okay, you have a a nivdea video card on 64bil system.

Unfortunately I am no expert on either but if you change your title to something reflecting your card and 64bit I am sure that someone will jump aboard.

Maybe:

isuues with nVidia Corporation C51PV [GeForce 6150] (rev a2) on AMD 64bit

and post it in the hardware support section of intrepid.
