I have a HP Compaq Presario CQ60-155EP (notebook) for a month now, and tried to install KUBUNTU 8.10.
First I downloaded the DVD iso. But the install hangs on the initial screen (that with the bar moving from une side to the other...
)
I was thinking that maybe was a bad DVD or a problem with the ISO, so I get an old CD with 8.10 and this time I get to install successfully.
But when I reboot the machine, I always get an error with kdeinit, and the system hangs...
Someone knows what can be the problem?
The processor is a TURION 64 X2, 250 GB SATA, 3 GB memory.
I can't put here the output messages, but I get many saying something like "write cache problem"... But the note is really new, and was with the vista installed working ok...
