    Brightness keys in KDE 4.2

    Hello,

I'm using KDE 4.2 in a 2nd generation MacBook and I'm having trouble configuring the brightness keys. In the MacBook, the "Brightness Down" key is F1 and the "Brightness Up" key is F2 (the actual F1 and F2 keys are obtained by pressing Fn + F1 and Fn + F2).

I tried going to System Settings >> Keyboard & Mouse >> Global Shortcuts and then setting the shortcuts for the Guidance Power Manager. I used the following custom keys:

Brightness Down: Stop (by pressing F1)
Brightness Up: Forward (by pressing F2)

KDE alerted me that the key "Forward" was already in use by the forward action (Standard Shortcuts), so I chose something else for the forward action. I restarted the computer and tried using the new shortcuts. "Brightness Down" works fine, but "Brightness Up" doesn't work. I know the brightness control works because I can use it if I set another key for the action "Brightness Up" (for example, F9, which is detected as "Launch Media").

Why can't I use the key I want?

    Thanks,
    Tiago

Weird, I'm able to assign the F9 key (detected as "Launch Media"), but not the F8 key (detected as "Launch Mail")... Is there any reason for these restrictions?
