After Kernel update I can't shoose restart and shutdown from shutdown dialog

I recently updated my kernel to 2.27-12 but when it came to Grub I decided to use the old grub and to add a new kernel manually.
That works fine, but now I can't shutdown or reset the computer.
I'm not really sure that it even has to do with new kernel, but that was more or less the only update (that and Amarok-nightly).
In addition I never could get suspend to RAM and disk from anywhere else than Kickoff. And they remain, but shutdown ad restart are gone.

Here are screenshot of he problem:

I had this, after problems installing KDE 4.2. My solution was to edit

    $HOME/.kde/share/config/ksmserverrc

The offerShutdown key in the [General] section had become set to false. General KDE 4 flakiness I suppose.
