Unable to start synaptic nor adept anymore. E:Type 'gpg' is not known....

Hi!

Suddenly I discovered that synaptic and adept will not start when i type sudo adept or sudo synaptic.

The reason is:

SystemError: E:Type 'gpg' is not known on line 55 in source list /etc/apt/sources.list, E:The list of sources could not be read.

How to fix this?

You need to edit the sources.list file and remove the error beginning on line 55. If you're not sure what needs fixing you could paste the contents of your sources.list file here.
