    KWin themes

    Hello..

Im on kde 4.2 and 8.10..

kde 4.2 is amazingly good looking..

but i feel that the 'ozone window decoration' is holding it back a bit.. (in terms of looks)

is there any way i can choose a window decoration theme that is as good looking as the environment ?
also there is no install new theme option in the system settings -> appearance -> window decoration

    thanks

    Re: KWin themes

go to kde-look.org and choose one...many are available. I personally use Dekorator, and the dust theme, and add transparency to it, and I like the look.

      Maybe ?

      Package: kwin-style-dekorator
windows decoration for kde using user-supplied PNG files

Make your own window decoration easy witheKorator. Dekorator uses your own made images for buttons, borders and so on, so go ahead and be creative. Provides an example called uglyTheme to show the possibilities of deKorator

Themes can be created by the user in a drawing program or be downloaded from http://www.kde-look.org/index.php?xcontentmode=21

This is a window decoration, not a style

      There is also: kwin4-style-bespin (Jaunty)
A very glossy KDE4 window decoration
but i can't find it from the Intrepid repositories. Intrepid repositories only have Package: kde4-style-bespin (A very glossy Qt4 widget style).

      Bespin at the KDE-Look:

Why there are dead links ?

          Re: KWin themes

There are directions at kde-look.org on how to compile it, that it how I do it...just make sure you download the kde4 version.

Also, keep in mind that dekorator is a themeing engine...you will then need to download the theme. Dekorator will be listed in the list of available window themes...can't remember if it is under 'desktop' or 'appearance' in system settings...
