      Re: kmid problem..

I select the sound files i want on the website and the box comes up asking me to open with kmid - so i click OK. But then the box comes up with the big long file name - saying ".... is not a regular file name".
yep - kmid does open - so within kmid i suppose.
      thx.

Are you provided with an option to download the file instead? If you are, give it a try, then point kmid to the downloaded file and see if it will open it.

Yep. Thats solved the problem. Thanks.

I have no sound coming out of kmid - even though it tells me it is playing...
i know my computer settings are okay because i had midi sound coming out with another program. VLC?

And maybe it is tied in to another problem i have - which is no general sounds.. the shutting-down music sounds - but the starting-up sound is cut off part way through?

            Must do more searching...

The last - starting-up sound is cut off - is a known issue with KDE 4.1. I upgraded to KDE 4.2.00 and that problem was resolved.
