Adept Sources marked as "Failed", and Amarok 1.4 won't udate to Amarok2

I recently installed KDE on my Ubuntu 8.10. I like KDE, but there are a few things I need to get worked out.

When run adept, I get a lot of failed sources. Here's a screenshot of what I mean:

Also, and I wonder if this is related, there's some sort of problem with Amarok. It still appears to be Amarok 1.4, but adept says I have Amarok2.

I added the repository to my sources.list, and adept says I have version 2 installed (doesn't it?).
Also Amarok says I'm suing KDE 3.5, but KDE says it's 4.1.

What's going on?

Hi.

Can't help you as such but my 'about' shows Amarok 1.4.10 (using KDE 3.5.10) too and KDE shows 3.5.10 but I'm using 4.1.4 - I assume that Amarok 2 is not in the repos yet unless somebody knows different.

Odd but not unusual.

Have you tried installing Synaptic to see if it is 'cleaner' than Adept? I believe Adept will be/is unsupported soon, so Synaptic might be a good idea anyway.

Cheers.

Your posted images aren't very clear, even when viewed on the hosted image sight.

Please post your /etc/apt/sources.list file for a review.

Hmmmm, does that mean it's safe to try Amarok 2 (again)?

Guess I'll give it a try -- it kind of crashed and burned the first time -- maybe they've got it stabilized now.

Ok, I've made some progress.
I had followed those instructions to install Amarok2, but amarok-kde4 wasn't showing up in Adept. Based on your advice, I tried Synaptic and I found it and it installed just fine.
So that part is solved!

Synaptic gave me an error for a missing public key, but I fixed that.
Sorry the screenshots aren't clearer. They look ok on my side.

The only thing that catches my eye on your sources.list, is you aren't using a country specific location. You might want to open Adept Manager and take a look at the sources options to see if you can select the country you are in or that is close to where you are.

I opened Adept Manager, opened the "Third Parties" tab, and chose "add" and added the repo from the announcement:

Closed the tab and it refreshed the package list. I clicked on the "Search" icon and entered "amarok-kde4" and it was there. I checked the "Install" box and it was installed -- it all looks correct. Luckily it could read my playlist from the previous version -- otherwise it would spend the next hour scanning my 175G of music.

Played 2 songs without crashing, so far. 8)
